Inari-zushi

Oleh Hiroko Liston, 'Inari-zushi' is the sushi rice wrapped in seasoned Abura-age (thin fried tofu). You can buy 'Inari-zushi no Moto' (seasoned Abura-age) at many Asian grocery stores. They come in cans and plastic shrink wrapped bags. If you want to cook Abura-age by yourself, the recipe is here.

Langkah Memasak

Langkah 1
Cut Abura-age in half and open them carefully. Pour very hot water over the Abura-age to remove oil from them.
Langkah 2
Place all ingredients in a saucepan and cook Abura-age until the sauce thickens. Let them cool in the sauce.
Langkah 3
Alternatively use ready-to-use 'Inari-zushi no Moto'. I recommend to empty the contents into a saucepan to heat, then cool. You can alter the flavour by adding more soy sauce or sugar.

Make small Sushi Rice balls and wrap with bags of seasoned Abura-age.

    Sushi Rice *cooked from 180ml x 3 cups uncooked rice
    12 pieces 'Inari-zushi no Moto' (Seasoned Abura-age)
    How to cook Abura-age from scratch
    *Note: If you want to cook Abura-age by yourself, here is the list of the ingredients
    6 sheets Abura-age (thin fried tofu)
    1 cup Dashi Stock *OR 1 cup Water & 1/2 teaspoon Dashi Powder
    4 tablespoons Mirin
    4 tablespoons Sugar
    4 tablespoons Soy Sauce
