Mix spices, salt, baking soda and sugar. Add melted butter, evaporated milk and molasses. stir well.

Add flour one cup at a time, stirring constantly. Dou should be stiff enough to handle without sticking to fingers. (If dough is sticky, chill for 1 hour).

Knead dough for smooth texture. Add a little flour if necessary to prevent sticking. When smooth, roll it out to approximately 3/4 inch thick on floured table and cut into cookie circles.

Bake on floured or greased cookie sheet in 375°F oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Cookies are done if they spring back when touched. ***DO NOT OVER BAKE***
